The Anishnaabek, Mushkegowuk, Onkwehon:we Language Commission of Oniatari:io is mandated by the Ontario First Nation chiefs in assembly. The commission works to ensure our Nation’s languages are foremost in the minds, hearts and actions of people and leadership, by promoting and supporting the acquisition, maintenance, and revitalization of Anishinawbemowin, Mushkegomowin, and Onkwehonwehneha civilizations to confirm their place in the world. The AMO Language commission boasts a Regional Language Professionals Association and an E-Community which offers peer to peer support for language teachers and learners, monthly webinars. In addition you will find a Regional On-Line Clearinghouse of Language materials as well as on-line Language lessons.
