First Nations Public Library Week

October 1 - October 7

First Nations Public Library Week (FNPLW) was initiated in 2000 by Indigenous librarians. As of 2018, there are 47 libraries on First Nation communities in the Province of Ontario.

In the eighteenth year of First Nations Public Library Week (FNPLW) we are looking into the future and exploring The Future of First Nation Public Libraries. This year, FNPLW has switched from a February celebration to an October celebration. First Nation Librarians and Public Libraries across the Province of Ontario will be celebrating Indigenous library and literacy excellence on October 1 through to October 7, 2018.
