(TORONTO, June 30, 2017)  “We the OFNYPC write this statement to you with the intention of encouraging dialogue, building hope, and pushing for interpersonal and governmental relationships that are built on reciprocity, respect, and liberation. We hope you will read this as a moment to educate yourself, a moment to reflect on your current ideas about Indigenous peoples in Canada, and a moment to reflect on your present relationships to Indigenous peoples.

(Toronto, June 23, 2017) “Today’s announcement that the federal government will seek clarity from the Federal Court on two specific aspects of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal rulings creates further delays and continues to imperil the lives of First Nations children across Canada.

Last month, the CHRT again ruled that Canada has yet to comply with previous orders to implement Jordan’s Principle, which is a child-first principle that every First Nation child should have access to the same government services as all Canadian children.

TORONTO (June 12, 2017) - The 43rd All Ontario Chiefs Conference (AOCC) will be held from Tuesday, June 13th to Thursday, June 15th at Lac Seul First Nation. This year’s theme is “Determining Our Path: Stability for Future Generations.” The AOCC is hosted by Nishnawbe Aski Nation in the territory of Treaty #3.
