POSTPONEMENT OF INFLUENZA PANDEMIC PLANNING CONFERENCE 2006
First Nations Perspective

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) Emergency Measures Planning Office and Department of Health, in collaboration with St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Health Services Office has decided to postpone the Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Conference (IPPC) until November 6th, 7th, & 8th, 2006.

The IPPC planning committee decided to postpone the conference due to the shortage of registrations received, as well as scheduling difficulties during summer months. Delaying the conference will also provide an opportunity for possible funding grants to reduce registration costs. The IPPC Planning Committee apologizes for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

All persons currently registered will remain registered for the November 6th, 7th, and 8th, unless otherwise notified, and all registration fees will be returned.

A conference flyer will be released confirming November dates, the agenda, and host hotel will remain the same. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

For more information surrounding specific conference questions please contact Larry White, Emergency Management Officer, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, at 613-936-1408.
