Toronto, ON – On the first day of the Anishinabek Nation’s annual general assembly, Patrick Madahbee accepted acclamation to serve as its Grand Chief for a second consecutive term. He will be advocating for the 39 First Nations that make up the Anishinabek Nation’s membership as they continue to assert their inherent and Treaty rights.

“I would like to congratulate Grand Chief Madahbee in being chosen to serve another term as Grand Chief of the Anishinabek Nation and know that he will continue to bring his passion and commitment in representing their issues and fighting for their rights,” said Ontario Regional Chief Angus Toulouse. “I look forward to working with him as part of the Chiefs of Ontario’s Political Confederacy.”

Regional Chief Toulouse would also like to congratulate Glen Hare, who was also acclaimed to serve another term as Deputy Grand Chief.
