Toronto, ON — Yesterday, Grand Chief Stan Louttit was awarded a Honourary Doctorate of Education by Nipissing University in recognition of his leadership and service to the Mushkegowuk Peoples and all First Nation citizens throughout Canada.
Over the past 30 years, Grand Chief Louttit has held many leadership positions and has been given awards of distinction for his hard work, dedication and his proven ability to affect change for the communities that he serves.
“I congratulate Grand Chief Louttit on this great and well-deserved honour bestowed upon him by Nipissing University. He has always put the needs of the Peoples that he serves first and has greatly advanced the cause of First Nations in protecting their inherent and Treaty rights. I also appreciate all the valuable input he’s provided the Chiefs of Ontario’s Political Confederacy,” said Ontario Regional Chief Angus Toulouse.
The Chiefs of Ontario (COO) is a coordinating body for the 133 First Nations located within the boundaries of the Province of Ontario.
